Event: Skin Control 2025 Brand Luncheon with media and KOLs
Situation: In September, Australia’s #1 Acne Care brand, Skin Control, celebrated fifteen new product launches of the year, with an intimate luncheon at the stunning Café Cressida in Woollahra. The exciting milestone brought together media and tastemakers, providing them with an exclusive preview of each product as they enjoyed a decadent three-course lunch hosted by Founder Michael Porter.
As the brand continues to push the boundaries of affordable, results-driven skincare, the event offered a unique opportunity to showcase its expansion beyond acne care. Guests were introduced to the brand’s extended range of viral Glass Skin Masks, new beauty tools and fresh skincare formats. The event offered an insider look at Skin Control’s product innovation with a speech from the founder, as well as a presentation from product developer and marketer, Rebecca Dieudonne.
With a selection of Cafe Cressida’s best menu items served, guests dined on fresh snapper sashimi, caviar tagliatelle and upon special request, Cafe Cressida owner and head chef Phil Wood brought back the drunken strawberries. The Cafe Cressida team also created a custom cocktail inspired by the viral colour-changing Glass Skin Facial Mask. During the luncheon, guests were exposed to an array of branded and well-styled moments and items, including In The Roundhouse Skin Control plates, the Skin Control media wall for guest photography, styling of products throughout the space and a Skin Control flower cart where guests could pick up a posy post-event to take home with them. Each cocktail came with a branded label, which was captured in social media mark-ups. Every guest left with the full Skin Control range in their Skin Control-branded goodie bag.
Strategy: Together with Skin Control, Movement Agency developed and executed an event production strategy that ensured that those who have supported the brand over the past few years were thanked and could join the next big milestone: 15 new products joining the bestselling portfolio of Australia’s #1 Acne Care Brand. Personal moments were throughout this intimate event. With only 32 hand-picked guests, Michael was able to mingle and speak with everyone and to show his gratitude for their support over the years, every guest received a sealed letter from Michael with a personal note of appreciation.
Tables were adorned with ‘pimpled pears’ - our cheeky nod to their best-selling Pimple Patches. Over a three-course menu of snapper sashimi, caviar tagliatelle and (upon special request) the return of Café Cressida’s iconic drunken strawberries, everyone enjoyed a colour-changing cocktail that brought the transforming effects of Skin Control’s viral Glass Skin Masks to life. This offered a shareable moment that was interactive and a unique way to integrate the brand’s new products into the luncheon itself.
